Hold My Lid

Keeps your Mac awake while coding agents work

What it is

Hold My Lid is a menu bar app that keeps your Mac awake while coding agents work on a task, even with the lid closed. For Claude Code, Codex or OpenCode it reads the lifecycle hooks and knows per session whether work is happening, and it spots Cursor or Gemini CLI by their running process. Once all agents are done the Mac may sleep again, and a battery limit keeps the laptop from running flat.

Install
brew install --cask shobhit99/tap/holdmylid
Why it made the cut
  • Stays awake with the lid closed, no external display
  • Uses hooks to tell whether an agent is really working
  • Battery limit and a plugged-in-only mode
