Polar is a billing platform that acts as merchant of record, so it calculates, collects and remits sales tax and VAT worldwide. Besides subscriptions it handles usage-based billing and credits, and after a purchase Polar automatically delivers license keys, downloads, GitHub repo access or Discord roles. Adapters for Next.js, Nuxt, TanStack Start, Laravel and Better Auth plus a sandbox make integration easier.
