Open-source design tool for teams in the browser

What it is

Penpot is a design and prototyping tool that runs in the browser and is built on open standards such as SVG, CSS and HTML. Layouts are made with Flex and CSS Grid, alongside components, libraries, design tokens and an inspect mode that outputs real code. The source is on GitHub under MPL-2.0, the platform can be self-hosted, and agents can work in it through an MCP server.
