What it is

Codex is OpenAI's coding agent and runs as a command-line tool, as an extension for VS Code and JetBrains, in the cloud and inside the ChatGPT app. The CLI is written in Rust and open source under Apache-2.0, and you sign in with your ChatGPT account or an API key. Tasks can start locally and be handed to the cloud, and reviews of branches and pull requests are built in.
